CAQH re-attestation for dentists: the 120-day rule explained

Why a five-minute task every four months decides how smoothly your payer credentialing goes.

Recredentialing

Most commercial dental payers recredential every 36 months and pull CAQH data before the cycle date. A lapsed attestation in the months before that pull can delay recredentialing.

Keep it current

  • Upload the new document whenever a license, DEA registration or malpractice policy renews.
  • Update practice locations when an office opens, moves or closes.
  • Make sure CAQH reminder emails go to someone who still works at the practice.
  • Set your own reminder 14 days before each attestation is due.
